I have been with PERSAS since June 2018, when I joined the company as an Estimator/Step-up Supervisor.
My experience in the mining industry goes back to 1989 when I completed my Boilermaker apprenticeship with a Hunter Valley engineering firm. On completion of my apprenticeship, I secured a full-time position as a Boilermaker with Costain/Ravensworth Mine. I then moved into Production where I trained up as an Operator, passing my Open Cut Examiners certificate.
Upon leaving the mine in late 2000, I decided I wanted to get more into the procurement/purchasing side of mining support.
Over the past eighteen years, I have been fortunate enough to work with some big operational equipment manufacturers. In addition to some of the smaller family-based companies. This experience has been invaluable. As it has given me the knowledge needed to offer support across a wide scope of industries.
Joining PERSAS has been a great move for me, both professionally and personally. Brett has built a great culture within the company, one that values the opinion and input of every employee. The atmosphere really is one of family.
Outside of work, my wife and two sons are the biggest part of my life. Along with our great network of friends. I play touch football every week and support the mighty Eels in every NRL game. In addition, I’m partial to a Tooheys New on the weekend.
